Bowie Fire Station: 30th Annual Fire Prevention Day and Open House

The City of Bowie 30th annual Fire Prevention and Open house.

The annual Fire Prevention and Open house is this Saturday. This year will market the 30th anniversary of this event, all the Bowie volunteer fire department and rescue squad participate in this full filled event.

There will be lots of fun activities and live educational demonstrations for every age group.

The opening ceremony start at 11am and there is an activity or demonstration every half hour till 4pm.

Also present will be SMOKEY THE BEAR, fire fighters will be on hand to answer questions. Refreshments and T-shirt will be available for sale with all proceeds going to the Bowie Fire department.

The City of Bowie Annual International Festival.

The annual international festival is once again coming up this Saturday October 4th at Allen Pond Park. The event is always fun with many entertainment activities for all ages. There will be food from different parts of the world, vendors selling artifacts, clothing, jewelry and much more.

There will be live bands, dance performances and poetry presentation in two stages step up in the park, one in the Amphitheater stage and the other at Boathouse stage. The detail of each activity is available at the city website.

There are lots of children activities at different booths setup, and children can win prizes.

Arrive Early!!:To enjoy this event arrive early with your lawn chair to secure a good location to view performances on stage. To also get good parking space as parking is limited.
